Lives and works in London
Martyn Simpson completed his MA Fine Art at Goldsmiths College in 1994. He has exhibited in shows across Europe including ‘The Reflective Surface’ in Helsinki, Stockholm and Vienna, and was included in Richard Salmon’s abstract painting show, ‘Vivid’, at the Richard Salmon Gallery, London and the Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art in Sunderland.
He has also curated exhibitions in London and abroad, notably ‘Perfidy’, an intervention involving twenty international artists at Le Corbusier’s Convent Sainte Marie de La Tourette, Evreux, France, later touring to Kettles Yard, Cambridge. He also curated ‘Carts and Rafts’ at Camberwell College of Arts which drew attention to the re-emergence of craft and the handmade in contemporary art. He is currently Undergraduate Programme Director at Camberwell College of Arts.
