I live in London, can I pick up the print from your gallery?

Yes you can. We do love visitors at The Old Sweet Shop Gallery, so do drop in!

Why should I sign up for the newsletter?

Most of our newsletters go out before the prints are released on the site and allow you to buy prints before they are available to the general public. This is the best way to increase your chances of grabbing a print before it's gone.

What's a limited edition?

A limited edition is a limited run of a particular piece of artwork. Artists and their publishers and/or dealers agree to, set and honour edition sizes. Once an edition is closed, it's closed forever. Exclusive limited editions offered for sale at The Old Sweet Shop Gallery are available exclusively through us.

How are your prints made?

The artists we collaborate with use a variety of high quality printing processes including optical c-prints, digital-c prints, archival ink-jet prints, letterpress, screen prints, etc. Sometimes, our artists offer original works, drawings or paintings, created with materials of their choice. The details and/or materials of each edition are noted on the artwork's page.

How do I know that my print is authentic?

Each print is signed and numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

How do you ship your artworks and prints?

Our smaller prints, up to 30x40cm in size, are put in protective sleeves and shipped in sturdy cardboard envelopes. Prints larger than 30x40cm are also stored in protective sheets but are usually shipped in tubes. Want your larger prints shipped flat? We can do it! (Additional handling fees may apply.)

What if a print gets damaged during shipping?

We pack our prints with extra care, doing our best to ensure that they won't be damaged, and all packages are labeled with special handling instructions. All prints are shipped via Royal Mail 'Recorded Signed For' so we should be able to find out what happened to your print.

In the unfortunate event that a print is damaged, keep in mind that it's the buyer's responsibility to follow-up and file the insurance claim. As all prints are part of limited editions, we can't replace damaged prints after the run has sold out.

What if a print has a printing flaw?

We make gallery-quality prints and every print is inspected before shipping. Very, very occasionally some flawed prints slip out. We will replace defective prints within two weeks after they are received, so please inspect your prints right after they arrive. If you do spot an error or defect, take a snapshot of the print so that the error is visible. We'll ask you to destroy the original (tear-it up) and send us another photo, then we'll promptly replace your print.

Do artists benefit from sales?

Yes our artists receive one third or half of the revenues of each print sale depending on weather we produce the edition or not.

Do you have copyright on these prints?

All rights are controlled by the artists who created the prints. Note: copyright law states that copyright is not transferred to the buyers of either prints or original artworks.

Will you share or sell my email address and personal data?

No, never. Your privacy and the security of your account are very important to us. We will not share or sell your personal information, ever.

How can I make sure that I'm signed up to your newsletter?

Why does the site looks doesn't look right?

The vast majority of reports of website issues come from the increasingly tiny number of holdouts using very old browsers. These browsers include Netscape 4, Internet Explorer 7 and below, Internet Explorer for the Mac. All these browsers are all terribly out of date as most were last refreshed years ago. Our suggestion is to do yourself a favour and download a modern up to date browser like Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari.

Do prints look exactly like the images we see online?

We work hard to ensure fidelity between the images you see online and our final prints, but the tonal range of paper is often a bit different than what you see on screen depending on the particular image. While we use calibrated monitors, many of you do not have calibrated monitors and therefore your monitor might display colours incorrectly.
